A highly regarded and boutique practice based in Manchester is looking for an experienced Secured Lending Solicitor to head up and grow its newly formed department. This is a Partner level opportunity with a clear pathway to leading a team, backed by strong financial investment and an existing pipeline of work.
The firm already has an exclusive relationship with a key lender, ensuring a regular and stable stream of secured lending work, with additional lenders and work expected to increase significantly. The firm is now looking for the right individual to establish the department, develop processes, and take ownership of its expansion over the short to medium term.
Initially, this role will involve handling a broad range of secured lending matters, representing both borrowers and lenders on transactions including bridging finance, refinancing, and development finance. You will be responsible for structuring the department, implementing best practices, and ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. Once the foundation is in place, the plan is to recruit additional fee earners to support the incoming work, after which you will assess department growth and work with management to drive efficiency and further expansion.
This firm has already demonstrated its ability to scale rapidly, with its financial litigation team exceeding all growth expectations after launching under a similar model. With substantial funding already in place, they are now focused on replicating that success within secured lending.
The firm has a modern office in Spinningfields, but offers significant flexibility, with a large part of this role being remote-based. Expected salary will be in the £70,000 – £90,000 range, with a strong benefits package, performance incentives, and a genuine opportunity for long-term career progression.
This is a rare chance to lead and shape a secured lending department within a well-backed, ambitious firm that is committed to long-term growth. For further information on this role, please contact Nick Skelly at QED Legal for a confidential chat.
