I’m currently working with a well-established, full-service law firm in Newcastle that is looking to expand its Property Litigation team. This team sits within a highly regarded Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution department, and due to continued growth, they are keen to recruit a Property Litigation Solicitor (3+ PQE). This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy, collaborative team handling a broad range of high-quality work, with genuine scope to develop your practice and play an active role in the team’s continued success.

Role

You’ll report directly to the Head of Department and take on a varied caseload of property litigation matters, acting for a diverse client base including SMEs, developers, landowners and managing agents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial and residential property disputes
  • Contractual disputes relating to real estate
  • Lease renewals (under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954)
  • Dilapidations claims
  • Forfeiture and possession proceedings
  • Service charge and rent arrears disputes
  • Breach of covenant claims
  • Boundary, easement and rights of way disputes
  • Agricultural and rural land matters

You’ll also be encouraged to get involved in business development and contribute to the wider growth of the Dispute Resolution team.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Solicitor with 3+ years’ PQE in Property Litigation
  • Strong experience handling a broad range of real estate disputes
  • Confidence managing your own caseload independently
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to provide clear, strategic advice
  • Strong client care skills and the ability to build lasting relationships
  • A genuine interest in business development and growing your own client base
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments while maintaining autonomy
