I’m currently working on an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate to join a market-leading Infrastructure & Projects team in Newcastle. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercial contracts lawyer with experience in infrastructure, PFI/PPP or wider public sector projects to join a nationally recognised team advising on some of the UK’s most significant and complex infrastructure arrangements.

The successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative national team advising both public and private sector clients across sectors including:

  • Health
  • Education
  • Transport
  • Energy
  • Water & environment
  • Regeneration

The role will involve:

  • Advising on the structuring and delivery of infrastructure and PFI/PPP projects
  • Supporting clients with operational contract management matters, including variations, refinancings and contractual interpretation
  • Advising on PFI contract expiry and hand-back arrangements
  • Drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
  • Working closely with colleagues across construction, real estate and dispute resolution teams
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Supporting business development and growth initiatives

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be circa 5+ PQE
  • Have experience in commercial contracts and infrastructure projects
  • Have exposure to PFI/PPP or similar long-term contractual frameworks
  • Be commercially minded and solutions-focused
  • Enjoy working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Be confident managing matters and developing client relationships independently

Construction law or project finance experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
