An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Education Lawyer (5+ PQE) to join one of the North East's leading commercial law firms. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a nationally recognised Sports, Education & Charities team, advising schools, academies, multi-academy trusts, colleges and higher education institutions on a broad range of complex legal and governance matters.
Role
- Join a specialist team providing strategic and day-to-day legal advice to clients across the education sector.
- Work on a diverse range of matters including:
- Academy conversions
- Mergers and re-brokerage projects
- Governance and constitutional advice
- SEND matters and SEND Tribunal proceedings
- Admissions and exclusions
- Safeguarding issues
- Complaints handling
- General legal and regulatory advice to education providers
You will work closely with clients to deliver practical, commercially focused solutions while building long-term relationships and supporting the continued growth of the team's education practice.
About You
- 5+ years' PQE with strong experience advising education sector clients
- Experience working with schools, academies, multi-academy trusts, colleges or higher education institutions
- A strong understanding of the legal and regulatory framework affecting education providers
- Experience advising on academy conversions, governance and restructuring projects
- Excellent communication, drafting and client management skills
- A proactive, collaborative approach with strong commercial awareness
- A genuine interest in business development and building lasting client relationships
