A leading national law firm is currently seeking a Construction & Engineering Solicitor to join its expanding team in Newcastle. This opportunity sits within a highly respected non-contentious construction and infrastructure team that advises an impressive client roster, including developers, funders, public sector bodies, and major NHS Trusts. With a strong presence in the infrastructure and residential development sectors, the team has established panel positions with some of the UK’s most recognised housebuilders. The team also acts on a wide range of public sector infrastructure projects, including transport (road, rail, and buses), flood defence, and healthcare projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting, negotiating, and advising on a variety of construction and engineering contracts, including NEC4-based agreements, frameworks, pre‑construction agreements, and bespoke forms.
  • Managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision.
  • Attending and leading client meetings, and contributing to business development activities.
  • Supporting tender proposals and client pitches.
  • Supervising junior team members and paralegals.
  • Maintaining excellent client service and high technical standards.
  • Contributing to knowledge sharing and team training initiatives.

  • Qualified solicitor (likely 2–6 PQE, though flexible for the right candidate).
