A leading East London law firm, recognised in The Legal 500, is seeking a Mental Health Solicitor to join its well-established Community Law Team. The firm has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality social welfare law services and is deeply committed to supporting vulnerable clients and local communities. The Community Law Team advises across housing and debt, community care, and mental health law, and continues to grow in response to increasing demand for specialist advice.

The role

  • This is a full-time position offering a varied and rewarding caseload within a supportive and collaborative team.
  • Manage your own caseload of mental health matters.
  • Represent and advocate for clients in mental health tribunal proceedings.
  • Provide clear, practical, and client-focused advice.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the Community Law Team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and external agencies.
  • Contribute to the continued development of the team and its profile.

About you

  • A qualified Solicitor in England and Wales.
  • At least 3 years’ PQE.
  • Accredited under the Law Society Mental Health Scheme.
  • Experienced in advocacy.
  • A confident and compassionate communicator.
  • Well organised, flexible, and able to manage competing deadlines.

Experience within a reputable social welfare or community law practice would be highly advantageous.
