We are seeking a proactive and creative Marketing & PR Manager to lead the delivery of an ambitious marketing, communications and business development strategy for a well-established and growing law firm based in Newcastle upon Tyne. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in raising brand profile, driving engagement, supporting business development initiatives and leading a talented marketing team.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for creating and managing a broad range of content and marketing activity across digital, PR and business development channels. Working closely with stakeholders across the firm, you will help strengthen the firm’s visibility, reputation and market presence while ensuring all communications align with strategic objectives and brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • PR & Content Marketing
    • Produce high-quality content for websites, blogs, press releases, newsletters, articles and social media channels.
    • Draft, edit and proofread communications to ensure consistency, professionalism and brand alignment.
    • Manage content uploads and formatting across digital platforms.
    • Coordinate activity with external PR agencies, publishers and media contacts.
    • Support internal communications and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Awards, Directories & Submissions
    • Manage legal directory and award submission programmes.
    • Prepare compelling submissions for Chambers, Legal 500 and industry awards.
    • Gather case studies, testimonials and supporting information from stakeholders.
    • Support tender and proposal submissions where required.
  • Digital Marketing & SEO
    • Support and implement SEO/GEO strategies to improve online visibility and website performance.
    • Conduct keyword research and optimise digital content.
    • Monitor website analytics and campaign performance, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
    • Assist with digital marketing campaigns, social media activity and email marketing initiatives.
  • Website & CMS Management
    • Update and maintain website content using WordPress.
    • Ensure practice area pages, team profiles and news content remain current and accurate.
    • Support website development projects and user experience improvements.
  • Marketing & Business Development Support
    • Assist with the planning and delivery of events, seminars and networking activities.
    • Support wider marketing and business development projects.
    • Build strong relationships with colleagues and external partners to support strategic objectives.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead, mentor and develop a team of two marketing professionals.
    • Set objectives, manage workloads and support professional development.
    • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture.

About You

Essential

  • Previous experience in a marketing, communications or PR role.
  • Strong copywriting, proofreading and editing skills.
  • Experience producing press releases and professional communications.
  • Good understanding of SEO, GEO and digital content optimisation.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience leading, coaching and developing team members.

Desirable

  • Experience within a legal, professional services or B2B environment.
  • Knowledge of legal directories and awards submissions.
  • Experience using WordPress CMS.
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms and analytics tools.
  • Experience supporting events and business development initiatives.
  • Experience using Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
