The Commercial & Technology team acts for an impressive client base, including global and international businesses, UK headquartered companies, entrepreneurial organisations and fast-growing businesses across sectors including technology, media, retail and hospitality.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded solicitor to join a friendly and collaborative team, working closely with clients as a trusted legal adviser and gaining exposure to a broad range of complex and interesting work.
The Opportunity
You will work with a varied client base, providing practical and commercially focused advice across a wide range of commercial matters, including:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
- Advising on contractual risk and providing strategic guidance to clients
- Technology agreements, including SaaS, cloud solutions, website and app development, hosting and licensing arrangements
- Data protection advice and data commercialisation matters
- Digital media and e-commerce work
- Consumer law matters
- Marketing, advertising and sponsorship agreements
- Intellectual property management, commercialisation, protection and enforcement
- Manufacturing, distribution and outsourcing agreements
- Supporting corporate transactions, acquisitions and restructurings with commercial expertise
Many of the firm's clients operate internationally, providing excellent exposure to cross-border commercial work and the opportunity to become a trusted adviser to businesses across multiple sectors.
About You
You will have:
- Experience within a commercial law team, with a strong grounding in contract law
- Experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements
- The ability to provide clear, pragmatic and commercially focused advice
- An understanding of areas such as data protection, technology, intellectual property, consumer law and competition law
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply legal knowledge to real business situations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence managing client relationships and running matters with appropriate supervision
- A proactive approach and genuine interest in developing your technical knowledge and commercial awareness
- The ability to work collaboratively within a supportive team environment
Experience or a particular interest in technology, digital media, data or AI would be advantageous.
