A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join the Leeds office of a highly regarded UK Top 100 law firm as a Managing Associate. This is a senior role within an established Private Client team, offering the opportunity to work on complex, high-value matters while taking an active role in supervising colleagues, developing client relationships and supporting the continued growth of the department.

The Role

Working closely with Partners and fee earners across the Private Client team, you will manage your own varied caseload while supervising and supporting junior members of the team. Your work will include advising clients on a broad range of sophisticated Private Client matters, including:

  • Drafting bespoke Wills, including those incorporating trust structures, inheritance tax mitigation strategies and wealth preservation planning
  • Advising on cross-border Wills and estate planning matters, including working with lawyers in other jurisdictions to coordinate UK and overseas assets
  • Business succession planning in collaboration with Corporate and Commercial colleagues
  • Creating, managing and advising Trustees on a variety of Trust matters, from establishment through to administration and winding up
  • Handling complex estate administration matters, including high-value estates involving business interests and overseas property
  • Advising on estate planning, probate, trusts and succession matters for a diverse client base
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across departments, including Corporate, Family and Real Estate teams, to provide a joined-up Private Client service
  • Liaising with tax accountants, financial planners, investment managers and other professional advisers to deliver comprehensive advice to clients

About You

The successful candidate will be an experienced Private Client lawyer with a strong technical background and the confidence to handle complex matters independently. You will ideally have:

  • Significant experience in Private Client law
  • Strong experience advising on Wills, Trusts, Estates and inheritance tax planning
  • Experience handling high-value and complex estates
  • The ability to supervise and support junior colleagues
  • A collaborative approach with the ability to work alongside colleagues across multiple practice areas
  • Excellent client care and relationship management skills
