A well-established and forward‑thinking law firm is seeking a Care Secretary to join its friendly Care team. Opportunities are available across offices in Huddersfield, South Elmsall, Barnsley, and Leeds.
The Role
You will provide high‑quality secretarial and administrative support to Care Solicitors, helping to ensure excellent client care and smooth day‑to‑day case management within a busy legal environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Typing legal documents, court documents, correspondence, and file notes
- Preparing legal aid applications
- Opening and maintaining files on the case management system
- Handling client enquiries and telephone calls professionally
- Arranging appointments and meetings with clients and professionals
- Managing incoming emails and post
- Using digital dictation systems (BigHand)
- Preparing bundles and maintaining accurate billing records
- Supporting fee earners across the wider team
- Providing cover for colleagues when required
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience within a Care department or similar legal environment
- Strong typing and digital dictation skills
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- A professional and empathetic approach to client care
- The ability to prioritise workloads effectively
- A proactive and flexible attitude
