Are you an experienced Property Legal Secretary looking for a senior support role within a busy and established law firm? We are recruiting for an experienced and highly capable Property Legal Secretary to join a friendly Property team in Ilford, East London. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong, traditional legal secretarial skills and substantial experience within Property Law. Previous Commercial Property / Real Estate experience would be particularly advantageous.

The Role

Working closely with a Senior Consultant, you will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support across a busy, fast-moving property caseload. This is a varied position requiring excellent organisation, strong document production skills and the confidence to manage competing priorities. Depending on your experience, there will also be opportunities to undertake more advanced responsibilities extending beyond traditional secretarial support.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high-quality secretarial and administrative support to a Senior Consultant
  • Preparing, formatting and amending legal documents and correspondence
  • Managing diaries, key dates, appointments and deadlines
  • Opening, maintaining and closing property files
  • Liaising professionally with clients, solicitors, agents and other third parties
  • Assisting with the progression of property transactions from instruction through to completion
  • Managing emails, correspondence and document production
  • Maintaining accurate information on the case management system
  • Supporting a busy and high-volume property caseload
  • Working alongside another Legal Secretary and the wider Property team
  • Undertaking additional property and paralegal-level support where appropriate to your experience

About You

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have:

  • Significant experience as a Property Legal Secretary, Commercial Property Legal Secretary, Real Estate Legal Secretary or Legal PA
  • Previous experience working within a law firm
  • Commercial Property experience, ideally supporting a busy fee earner
  • Excellent legal document production, typing and secretarial skills
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities
  • Confidence managing a high-volume workload and competing deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A proactive and professional approach
  • Strong client care and communication skills
  • The ability to work autonomously while remaining part of a supportive team
  • Confidence taking on more advanced property-related tasks where appropriate

Experience using TFB case management software would be advantageous, although candidates with experience of LEAP or other legal case management systems are encouraged to apply. Please note that this is a fully office-based position in Ilford, Monday to Friday, so candidates must be happy to attend the office five days per week.
