An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and organised Legal Assistant to join a busy and supportive legal team. This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative skills, excellent attention to detail, and a genuine interest in developing their career within the legal sector. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will provide high-quality administrative and secretarial support while helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Opening new client files and maintaining accurate client records
- Carrying out Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance checks
- Managing client onboarding processes and risk assessments
- Handling incoming emails and telephone enquiries professionally
- Monitoring deadlines and ensuring tasks are completed on time
- Using the Land Registry portal to obtain documents and submit applications
- Assisting with property completions and arranging payments
- Supporting billing and invoicing processes
- Digital audio typing and document production
- Coordinating meetings and managing diaries
- Scanning, post handling, filing and general office administration
About You
- Friendly, professional and approachable
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicating with clients and third parties by phone and email
- Able to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively
- Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel and case management systems
- Proactive, willing to learn and keen to take initiative
Previous experience within a legal environment is desirable, with experience in property law or conveyancing particularly advantageous. However, candidates with strong administrative experience and a willingness to learn will also be considered.
