Are you an experienced Legal Assistant looking to develop your career within a busy and highly regarded Residential Property team? We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to provide comprehensive support to Property Solicitors and help deliver an exceptional client experience throughout the conveyancing process.

The Role

As part of a successful Property Department, you will play a key role in supporting fee earners with a wide range of residential conveyancing matters, including:

  • Client onboarding and file opening procedures
  • Managing client and third-party enquiries via telephone and email
  • Drafting legal documentation and correspondence
  • Preparing contract packs
  • Ordering and processing property searches
  • Handling Land Registry applications and registrations
  • Preparing and submitting SDLT documentation
  • Assisting with billing and accounts-related instructions
  • Maintaining accurate and compliant client files
  • General administrative and file management duties

Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as a first point of contact for clients, estate agents, lenders and other third parties
  • Providing quotations within agreed guidelines
  • Opening and closing files in accordance with firm procedures
  • Ensuring files remain compliant with regulatory and internal requirements
  • Amending and formatting documents, including tracked changes
  • Supporting fee earners with day-to-day case management
  • Assisting with filing, document production and administrative tasks

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience working within a Residential Property or Conveyancing team
  • Excellent client care and communication skills
  • Strong organisational and administrative abilities
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong word processing and document formatting skills
  • A professional, proactive and positive approach
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • An understanding of confidentiality and compliance requirements within a legal environment
