If you enjoy Family Law and are looking for a role where you'll work on genuinely interesting, high-quality matters whilst being part of a supportive and well-respected team, this could be one worth exploring.

Position: Senior Solicitor or Associate to join our Family Law team.

Work Scope: The work is entirely privately funded and offers a great mix of matters. Around 65-75% of the caseload is contentious, with the remainder focused on negotiated settlements and collaborative solutions. You'll advise clients across the full range of family law matters including separation and divorce, financial provision, child law disputes, relocation cases and, on occasion, Hague Convention matters. The team also undertakes some more niche work, including contentious guardianship applications.

Quality Focus: This is very much a quality over quantity role. You'll work with professional clients who value expert advice and a high level of service. Many of the financial provision cases involve substantial assets, often in excess of £1 million, and whilst much of the work is dealt through the Sheriff Court, you'll also gain exposure to more complex Court of Session matters.

Team Environment: You'll be joining an established and friendly team where support is readily available. There is excellent administrative and paralegal support in place, allowing you to focus on what you do best. Equally, if you enjoy mentoring and sharing your knowledge, there will be opportunities to support and develop more junior members of the team.

Candidate Profile: It is likely you'll already have a solid background in Family Law and be confident managing your own caseload of privately funded matters. Whether you're an experienced Senior Solicitor looking for the next step or an Associate seeking a fresh challenge, we would be delighted to tell you more.

Growth & Development: There is genuine scope to grow. You'll be encouraged to get involved in the continued development of the department, and there is a clear commitment to supporting career progression for the right person.

Remuneration & Benefits: The firm also offers a sensible approach to flexible working, with the opportunity to work from home for up to three days per week. There is a performance‑related bonus scheme, realistic billing expectations, and a culture that recognises the importance of delivering excellent client service whilst maintaining a healthy work‑life balance. Salary is negotiable depending on experience and will be accompanied by a competitive benefits package.
