Our client is a multinational company, looking for a General Counsel for all legal, compliance and data protection related matters for all their UK legal entities. The successful candidate must have knowledge of public procurement in the UK.
Based in Enfield, North London this company has a hybrid working policyneedingemployees to be in the office 3 days per week.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and support the legal department
- Draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements
- Provide effective legal advice and ensure the compliance with laws as well as adherence to the respective legal and compliance processes
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across other departments
- Work together with the business to develop strategies in the event of disputes
- Management of external counsel law firms
- Responsible for the management of a small legal team
The successful candidate:
- Will have profound knowledge of the public procurement law in the UK
- An English qualified solicitor ideally with at least 7 years’ post qualified experience
- Work closely with the company’s Compliance Officer and Data Protection Officer
- Have good communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Have a commercial / business outlook to their work
Our client envisages that candidates will have at least 7 years PQE plus will have the relevant skills / knowledge for this position, however this has been given as an approximate guide for applicants and our client is happy to consider the applications of candidates who fall outside of this PQE range but who have the relevant experience.
