My client is a well-established, forward-thinking law Legal 500 firm with a strong presence in the East Midlands and beyond. Known for their supportive culture and long-standing relationships with clients, they’ve built an excellent reputation across a range of legal disciplines, including a thriving Employment team. With consistently high client satisfaction ratings and glowing reviews across reviewing platforms, they’re a firm where people feel genuinely valued – both clients and employees alike. The working environment is dynamic yet friendly, offering high-quality work without the corporate red tape.

Due to continued growth, my client is looking to recruit a senior-level Employment Partner to join their Nottingham office. The role will suit someone with strong technical skills and a commercial approach, ready to play a key part in the ongoing development of the Employment team.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Handling a varied caseload of contentious and non-contentious employment matters
  • Acting for a diverse client base including commercial clients in manufacturing, retail, and tech sectors, as well as some personal employment work
  • Advising on dismissals, TUPE, discrimination, protected conversations, and day-to-day HR support
  • Providing corporate support on employment matters during M&A transactions and restructures
  • Leading and mentoring a small team (initially two direct reports)
  • Playing an active role in business development and strategic planning for the team

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys the mix of hands-on client work and team leadership in a flexible, open environment.

You:
  • A qualified solicitor with 7+ years PQE in employment law
  • Experienced across both contentious and non-contentious work
  • Previous exposure to corporate support work is desirable
  • Comfortable leading or mentoring a team – or ready to step into that role
  • A commercial thinker with a client-focused approach
  • Someone who enjoys collaborating with colleagues in a positive, supportive environment

Looking to move to a firm where you can shape the future of a growing team while maintaining a great work/life balance?

Benefits:
  • Hybrid working – typically 3 days in the office and 2 from home
  • Free on-site parking
  • Annual Partner Bonus
  • 30 days annual leave + UK Bank Holidays

  • Enhanced pension – 5% matched contribution
  • Option to buy up to 3 additional holiday days
  • Group Life Assurance – 4x salary
