I’m currently working on an exciting opportunity for an Employment Associate to join a highly regarded national Employment team in Newcastle. This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading Employment, Pensions and Immigration teams, acting for an impressive client base across the financial services, healthcare and commercial sectors. The team is consistently recognised in the top tier of the legal directories and has a particularly strong reputation across the North East market.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including:

  • Employment Tribunal litigation
  • Complex discrimination, whistleblowing and breach of contract claims
  • Advisory work for a range of commercial clients
  • Restructuring, redundancy and TUPE projects
  • Multi-jurisdictional employment matters
  • Client training and business development initiatives

The role will also involve:

  • Managing a busy and varied caseload
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Supervising and supporting trainees and junior team members
  • Working collaboratively across the wider Northern Employment team

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be 3+ years PQE
  • Have strong employment law experience, particularly contentious matters
  • Ideally have experience advising commercial or multi-national clients
  • Be commercially minded and solutions-focused
  • Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Enjoy working as part of a collaborative and ambitious team
