What if you could work on City-level real estate transactions — without leaving Scotland? I’m working with a top tier Scottish law firm with a longstanding reputation in the Real Estate market, currently looking to appoint a Senior Associate to join its established and highly regarded team. This is a role that will see you operating at the sharp end of the retail sector, advising on high-value acquisitions and disposals for a range of national and institutional clients.
The work is consistently complex, commercially driven and very much aligned with what you would expect from a leading City practice. What makes this opportunity particularly compelling is the level at which the team operates. There is regular collaboration with London firms and international clients, meaning you’ll be involved in cross-border transactions and high-profile deals that extend well beyond Scotland. In many respects, this is City-quality work — but delivered within a more balanced and sustainable environment.
At Senior Associate level, the focus shifts beyond pure delivery. You’ll be trusted to lead on transactions, take ownership of key client relationships and play an active role in the continued growth of the practice. You’ll work closely with Partners who are well known in the market, gaining both exposure and the platform to develop your own profile. The team itself is well structured and continues to grow, supported by a strong and consistent pipeline of premium work across the retail space.
From large-scale portfolio deals through to strategic acquisitions and disposals, you’ll be involved in transactions that demand both technical strength and commercial awareness. The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor with a minimum of five years’ post-qualification experience in commercial property, with strong exposure to sales and purchases. Experience within the retail sector would be advantageous, but equally important is the ability to operate confidently at a senior level, manage complexity and engage effectively with clients.
What sets this role apart is the combination of platform and trajectory. You’ll be joining a firm that offers genuinely high-end work, clear progression opportunities and the chance to build a career at a level often associated with the City — without needing to relocate. For those considering their next move at Senior Associate level, this represents a rare opportunity to access that calibre of work while maintaining a more grounded and collegiate working environment.
