Are you an experienced Property Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant looking for a new opportunity in York? We are recruiting for a Commercial Property Legal Secretary to join the property team of a well-established law firm. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong legal secretarial or administrative background who already has experience supporting fee earners within Property Law. While direct Commercial Property experience would be advantageous, candidates who have supported fee earners within Residential Conveyancing, Real Estate or another property-focused legal department are also encouraged to apply.
The Role
- Providing high-quality secretarial and administrative support to Property Law fee earners
- Preparing, formatting and amending legal correspondence, reports and property documentation
- Opening, maintaining and closing client and matter files
- Liaising professionally with clients, solicitors, agents, lenders and other third parties
- Managing diaries, appointments, meetings and key dates
- Handling telephone calls, emails and correspondence efficiently
- Updating the firm's case management system and maintaining accurate records
- Assisting with Land Registry documentation, searches and property-related administration
- Preparing documents and correspondence relating to commercial property transactions
- Supporting fee earners with the day-to-day progression of matters
- Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring a consistently high standard of accuracy
- Providing wider administrative support to the Commercial Property team when required
About You
Previous experience supporting fee earners within Property Law is essential for this position. You may currently be working as a Commercial Property Legal Secretary, Real Estate Legal Secretary, Property Legal Assistant, Conveyancing Legal Secretary or experienced Property Legal Administrator. Direct Commercial Property experience would be particularly welcomed, although applications are also encouraged from candidates with a strong Residential Property background who are interested in moving into Commercial Property.
