The firm has a strong client base with lots of repeat work and there’s a new office to work from, if you like! You’ll be managing a varied private client caseload, so it’s important that you’re organised, detail-focused and comfortable working in a busy setting. Strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and deliver a high standard of client care.

The Role

You will be responsible for running your own caseload of private client matters from initial instruction through to completion. This will include:

  • Drafting Wills (including more complex, high-value estates)
  • Advising on estate and inheritance tax planning
  • Supporting clients with asset protection
  • Handling the administration of estates, from obtaining Grants of Probate or Letters of Administration through to final distribution
  • Preparing and registering Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Advising attorneys and deputies
  • Assisting with Court of Protection matters where required
  • Exposure to trusts work, including setting up and administering trusts
  • Preparing Deeds of Variation and other post-death planning documents
  • Liaising with HMRC on inheritance tax matters and completing the relevant IHT forms

Alongside the technical work, you’ll ensure files are managed in line with regulatory requirements, including AML and SRA compliance. You’ll keep matters progressing efficiently, maintain good financial discipline around billing, and keep clients updated throughout. There will also be an opportunity to get involved in business development and networking, contribute to team knowledge-sharing, and support colleagues during busy periods.

About You
