Are you an experienced Legal Secretary, Legal Assistant or Legal Administrator looking for a new opportunity in Malton? We are recruiting for a Residential Property Legal Secretary / Assistant to join the conveyancing team of a well-established law firm. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous legal administration experience who is organised, proactive and confident providing high-quality support within a busy legal environment. Previous experience within Residential Property or Conveyancing would be highly desirable, but it is not essential. Candidates with strong legal secretarial or administrative experience from another area of law are encouraged to apply.
The Role
- Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to solicitors and fee earners handling a varied caseload of residential property transactions.
- Preparing, formatting and amending legal correspondence and documentation.
- Supporting fee earners with residential sales, purchases, remortgages and related property matters.
- Opening new client files and assisting with file closing procedures.
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, solicitors, mortgage lenders and other third parties.
- Managing diaries, appointments and key transaction dates.
- Handling telephone calls, emails and incoming correspondence.
- Updating the firm's case management system and maintaining accurate client and matter records.
- Assisting with searches, Land Registry documentation and other conveyancing administration.
- Preparing documents and correspondence ahead of exchange and completion.
- Providing general administrative and secretarial support to the wider Residential Property team.
- Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring work is completed accurately and efficiently.
About You
To be considered, you will need previous experience within a legal administration, legal secretarial or legal assistant position. Experience within Residential Conveyancing or Property Law would be an advantage, but is desirable rather than essential. Training on the specific requirements of the department can be provided to someone with a strong legal administration background.
You should also be:
