Junior Conveyancer | Residential Sales & Purchases | Newcastle
North East | Junior Level | Residential Conveyancing | Salary £28,000 - £45,000 DOE

If you're a junior Conveyancer who'd rather build your career on quality work than process 100+ files at once, this could be a good fit.

I'm working with an established North East law firm that is looking to add a junior residential property fee earner to its existing Conveyancing team.

You don't need to be a qualified solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer for this one.

What matters is that you have genuine experience handling residential sales and purchases and understand how to progress a matter from instruction through to completion.

The team currently operates with a deliberately controlled caseload. Fee earners are generally capped at around 70 files, meaning you're not walking into the kind of high-volume environment where everything becomes a race to exchange.

The work is predominantly:

  • Freehold and leasehold sales
  • Residential purchases
  • Progressing transactions from instruction through to completion
  • Liaising with clients, agents, lenders and other solicitors
  • Dealing with the day-to-day issues that arise during a transaction
  • Building relationships with a predominantly local client base

The client base is largely around Gosforth, Jesmond, Ponteland and Sunderland, alongside some national clients, and the firm operates at a higher price point than many of the traditional volume conveyancing practices in the area.

There's another important difference.

The team doesn't operate around referral fees, so you're not dealing with the same commercial pressure that can come with a heavily referral-driven conveyancing model.

Quotes and opening files are dealt with before matters reach the fee earner, meaning your time is focused much more heavily on actually progressing transactions and looking after clients.

They're looking for someone relatively early in their conveyancing career who already has a solid grounding in residential sales and purchases.

You don't need to be qualified.

You do need to be able to demonstrate that you've worked on genuine transactions and understand the process. Someone currently working as a Conveyancing Assistant, Paralegal, Legal Executive or junior Conveyancer could all be relevant, provided the hands-on experience is there.

Remortgages aren't a major part of the current workload, so this is particularly suited to someone whose experience is weighted towards sales and purchases.

Flexibility around working locations and hot-desking where appropriate.

If you're a junior Conveyancer, Residential Property Paralegal, Conveyancing Assistant or Legal Executive looking for a move into a team where caseloads are controlled and quality matters more than volume, I'd be happy to have a confidential conversation.
