Not every litigation role gives you the opportunity to work directly with major banking and lender clients.

This one does.

QED Legal's client is an established law firm is looking to add a Solicitor to its specialist Banking Litigation team in Newcastle, working on a broad range of contentious matters for established banking and lending institutions.

The core of the role is secured debt recovery and lender litigation, but there is enough variety in the caseload to keep it interesting.

You'll be handling matters from instruction through to resolution, advising clients, drafting court documentation, negotiating settlements and representing clients at hearings and settlement meetings.

The work includes:

• Secured debt recovery actions;
• Banking and lender disputes;
• General dispute resolution and litigation;
• Court pleadings and associated documentation;
• Settlement negotiations;
• Court hearings and settlement meetings; and
• Managing your own caseload and financial targets.

The client base is a big part of the attraction here.

You'll be acting for major banking and lender clients, giving you exposure to institutional clients and matters where commercial awareness is just as important as knowing the litigation process.

QED Legal's client is looking for a qualified Solicitor with experience in litigation, dispute resolution or debt recovery, with a good understanding of secured debt recovery ideally.

You don't necessarily need to have worked in a dedicated Banking Litigation team before. A good grounding in contentious work, strong drafting and the ability to manage a busy caseload are the key foundations.

It's a role that could suit someone who enjoys litigation but wants to move further into the banking, finance and lender space, as well as someone who already has that experience and wants to build on it within a specialist team. xgikmsk
