We’re working with a fabulous global law firm who are looking to hire a Senior AML Analyst to join their established AML team.

This is a broad and varied role, working closely with the Senior AML Manager, MLRO, Legal & Risk teams and wider compliance stakeholders across the business. You’ll play a key role in managing CDD and EDD activity, supporting AML risk management and helping to develop and improve AML processes across the firm’s EMEA offices.

The Role?

  • Independently complete CDD for new and existing clients across EMEA.
  • Oversee EDD reviews for high-risk clients and matters, recommending appropriate actions where required.
  • Escalate AML, sanctions, financial crime and reputational risks to relevant senior stakeholders.
  • Analyse sanctions notifications and developments across the UK, EU, US and UN regimes.
  • Provide expert guidance on AML and wider financial crime requirements across EMEA.
  • Support the MLROs with AML, suspicious activity and sanctions reporting.
  • Assist with the review and development of AML policies, procedures, checklists and guidance.
  • Support internal and external audits and regulatory requests.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior members of the AML team.
  • Keep up to date with regulatory and legislative developments across EMEA.
  • Support wider AML, financial crime and compliance projects as required.

About You?

We’re looking for someone with strong AML experience within a law firm, who is comfortable working independently and dealing with complex, high-risk matters.

  • Substantial experience within a business intake, AML or compliance function in an international law firm.
  • Strong knowledge of AML and wider financial crime legislation across EMEA.
  • Experience with CDD and EDD, particularly for higher-risk clients and matters.
  • Good understanding of sanctions and financial crime compliance.
  • Knowledge of data protection principles across EMEA.
  • Good understanding of the SRA Standards and Regulations.
  • A degree-level qualification (2:1 or equivalent); a Law degree/GDL is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to advise and challenge stakeholders at all levels.
