An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial & Civil Litigation Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join a much-loved Yorkshire practice based in Barnsley. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and ambitious litigator looking to develop their career within a supportive and experienced Dispute Resolution team, working alongside an established Partner on a varied caseload of interesting and commercially focused disputes.
The Role
- You will manage your own caseload of predominantly commercial litigation matters, whilst also supporting senior colleagues on more complex disputes.
- You will work with a broad range of businesses and individuals, providing pragmatic, commercially focused advice and helping clients achieve effective resolutions to their disputes.
- Your work will include:
- Managing a varied caseload of commercial and civil litigation matters
- Advising on contractual disputes, director, shareholder and partnership disputes
- Handling debt recovery and professional negligence claims
- Working on business torts, construction disputes and contentious property matters
- Representing clients through litigation, mediation, arbitration and other forms of dispute resolution
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, correspondence and settlement agreements
- Conducting legal research and providing clear, commercially focused advice
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
- Working closely with colleagues across the firm
- Contributing to business development, networking and the continued growth of the team
About You
- The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive in England & Wales, with experience in commercial litigation.
- You will ideally have:
- NQ–2 years' PQE experience
- Experience handling commercial litigation matters
- Good technical knowledge of civil procedure and dispute resolution
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills
- An interest in developing your advocacy skills
- The confidence to manage your own caseload with appropriate supervision
- Excellent communication and client care skills
- A commercially aware, proactive and solutions-focused approach
- A genuine interest in developing your career within Dispute Resolution
