We are looking for a Deputy Distribution Centre Manager to join our main Warehouse! A Deputy Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of a distribution centre or warehouse. This position involves a blend of supervisory, operational, and administrative responsibilities aimed at optimising the flow of goods, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting the overall logistics process. You will interact with a wide aspect of colleagues, up to director level, with regular contact with store and security colleagues as well as the buying, IT and human resources departments. You will be required to maintain great working relationships with delivery drivers and suppliers. In the manager's absence, you will assume responsibility for the distribution centre. Our distribution centre is a busy place, so you must adhere to all health and safety measures. Management experience is essential.
Requirements:
- Proven experience managing large scale warehouse operations, including inbound, outbound, inventory control and replenishment functions within a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Strong commitment to maintaining high health and safety standards and promoting a safety‑first culture.
- Ability to achieve and exceed operational KPIs through effective resource management and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing, motivating and coaching teams and managers at all levels to maximise performance and engagement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a coaching management style and the ability to build strong relationships across all areas of the organisation.
