Our client, an experienced principal contractor that partners with some of the biggest data centre providers in the market, is currently seeking a brand-new Project Manager. The project is based in Manchester, with long-term future work expected in the area.
Responsibilities
- Provide a strategic approach to project planning, considering logistics, operational resilience, redundancy, phasing, and risk mitigation in live data centres.
- Lead or support estimating, cost planning, and technical review of scopes at pre‑contract stage.
- Lead procurement of major plant and equipment (UPS, generators, switchgear, CRACs, containment, controls).
- Take full responsibility for safe delivery of works within live, mission‑critical environments.
- Deliver full project handover including O&M manuals, as‑builts, training, warranties, and spares.
Requirements
- Craft background or HNC/HND/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline.
- SMSTS (essential).
- CSCS (Manager or equivalent).
- Strategic thinker with a proactive, risk‑aware mindset.
