Help businesses make ISO work in practice. QCS International is a specialist management systems consultancy and training business, supporting clients with the implementation, maintenance and improvement of ISO management systems. We are looking for an experienced ISO Consultant / Trainer to join our team. This is a client-facing role, primarily focused on delivering ISO consultancy projects, with a particular emphasis on ISO 9001 Quality Management and ISO 27001 Information Security Management. The role will also support the delivery of ISO management systems and auditing training courses. Ideally, you will already have experience in both consultancy and training, but we are also open to an experienced ISO consultant who has the confidence, communication style and appetite to develop as a trainer. We can provide coaching and support to help build training delivery capability.
About the role: This is a field-based role, working with clients across Scotland and northern England. Most client travel is expected to be within around three hours of our Scottish office in Cumbernauld, so the role would suit someone based within practical travelling distance of the central Scotland / northern England region. As a guide, this could include areas from Ayr to Berwick-upon-Tweed, Carlisle and Newcastle in the south, and Dundee / Perth in the north. Occasional wider UK travel may also be required.
You will work directly with clients to help them implement, maintain and improve ISO management systems that are practical, clear and genuinely useful to their business.
What you’ll be doing: You will:
- deliver ISO consultancy projects, primarily covering ISO 9001 and ISO 27001
- support clients with implementation, maintenance, improvement and audit readiness
- carry out gap analyses, internal audits and certification preparation work
- produce clear and practical management system documentation
- provide technical advice in a way that is commercially aware and easy to understand
- manage your own client assignments, actions, deadlines and follow-up
- support the delivery of ISO management systems and auditing training courses
- contribute to the improvement of training materials, exercises and client resources
- identify opportunities to add value through relevant QCS and wider PHSC Group services
What we’re looking for: You must have:
- strong practical experience of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
- strong practical experience of ISO 27001 Information Security Management Systems
- experience developing, implementing, maintaining or auditing ISO management systems
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- confidence working with clients at different levels
- strong organisation skills and the ability to manage your own workload
- a practical, client-focused and commercially aware approach
- a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly
It would also be useful if you have:
- experience delivering ISO management systems or auditing training
- experience with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems
- experience with ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems
- CQI / IRCA auditor registration or equivalent auditing credentials
These are helpful, but not essential.
What kind of person will suit this role? We are looking for someone who is professional, practical, organised and client focused. You should be able to translate ISO requirements into systems that work in real businesses, build trust quickly with clients, and take clear ownership of your work. This role would suit someone who enjoys working directly with clients, solving practical problems, and helping organisations make ISO management systems more useful, not just audit-ready.
Why join QCS? You’ll be joining a specialist consultancy and training business with established client relationships and the backing of PHSC plc. You’ll have the opportunity to work across a varied client base, take ownership of meaningful consultancy assignments, and contribute to the development of QCS’s ISO training and management systems services. For the right person, this is a chance to combine technical ISO expertise with client-facing consultancy, training delivery and wider business improvement work.
How to apply: To apply, please send your CV and a short covering note explaining your relevant ISO experience, particularly in relation to ISO 9001 and ISO 27001.
