About the Firm

For a Partner with an established reputation in this market, this role offers the scope to bring that expertise into an international law firm with considerable depth across the real estate sector.

Our client advises developers, investors, occupiers, financiers and other property stakeholders across the lifecycle of their assets. Its contentious property lawyers handle mainstream landlord and tenant matters alongside specialist disputes involving development projects, injunctions, professional negligence, rent reviews and secured lending.

The Opportunity

  • Advise property owners, developers, investors, occupiers and other stakeholders on substantial real estate disputes.
  • Handle landlord and tenant matters alongside contentious issues arising from the management and use of property assets.
  • Act on development-related claims, including disputes capable of affecting significant projects and investments.
  • Deal with specialist instructions involving injunctive relief, professional negligence, rent review and secured lending.
  • Guide clients through dispute avoidance, negotiation and settlement as well as formal court proceedings.
  • Build on your existing relationships while creating further instructions across the firm's real estate and commercial client base.
  • Combine your expertise with colleagues in areas such as transactional real estate, construction, finance and planning where matters require a multi-disciplinary approach.
  • Help enhance the profile and reach of the firm's contentious property offering nationally.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A Partner specialising in real estate litigation with substantial experience across contentious property matters.
  • A well-developed network and a demonstrable record of generating work.
  • Technical expertise across commercial property disputes, with the ability to handle strategically important and technically demanding instructions.
  • Experience acting for landlords, occupiers, developers, investors or other participants in the property market.
  • Sound judgement and a pragmatic approach to dispute avoidance, negotiation and litigation.
  • The confidence to manage key relationships and identify opportunities across the broader real estate sector.
  • A reputation and client proposition that would complement the firm's existing capabilities.
