THE ROLE
  • Advise on complex development planning matters - from residential and mixed-use schemes to commercial and logistics sites.
  • Draft and negotiate section 106 agreements and highways agreements to unlock major development opportunities.
  • Guide clients through the planning application process including review of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs).
  • Support on town centre compulsory purchase orders (CPOs) and advise on compensation.
  • Represent clients in planning appeals and public inquiries.
  • Provide advice on public law issues, including statutory powers, vires and administrative law principles.
  • Work on projects spanning major UK regions - with a strong presence in London, the North and Scotland.
  • Enjoy real responsibility on projects and work closely with senior lawyers and partners to drive results.
REQUIREMENTS
  • UK-qualified Planning Lawyer with 6+ years’ PQE.
  • Strong experience advising on development planning or infrastructure consenting matters.
  • A sharp eye for drafting and negotiating planning and highways agreements.
  • Solid understanding of planning legislation, public law, and statutory processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple client needs, deliver under pressure and maintain high service standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Passionate about planning law and shaping places through your legal work.
