The Opportunity

  • Join a highly ranked and fast‑growing finance team based in Manchester.
  • Work on a broad range of sophisticated banking transactions, including corporate lending, leveraged finance and real estate finance.
  • Advise leading clients including clearing banks, private credit funds, alternative lenders, private equity sponsors and corporate borrowers.
  • Gain exposure to complex regional, national and international finance transactions.
  • Support partners on high‑value matters while supervising and developing junior lawyers.
  • Draft and negotiate principal finance documents, providing technical and commercially focussed advice.
  • Take a leading role in transaction management, helping to drive deals forward efficiently and collaboratively.
  • Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives across the team.
  • Collaborate closely with the wider national finance practice and international offices.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Finance lawyer with 5+ years’ PQE and strong experience in banking and finance transactions.
  • Confident advising on corporate lending, leveraged finance, real estate finance or related finance matters.
  • Strong technical drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to provide practical commercial advice.
  • Experienced in managing transactions and working directly with clients and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable supervising junior lawyers and supporting their development.
  • Demonstrates sound commercial awareness and enjoys working on complex transactional matters.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and relationship‑management skills.
  • Looking to establish a long‑term career within an ambitious and well‑regarded Manchester finance practice.
