The Employment team advises throughout the employment lifecycle, covering strategic workforce matters, disputes, transactions and international projects. Lawyers regularly work across borders and alongside other practice areas, providing coordinated advice where employment issues form part of wider commercial challenges.

The Opportunity

  • Join an international Employment practice handling a varied mix of complex employment matters.
  • Work across both contentious and non-contentious employment law, with matters spanning the UK and international jurisdictions.
  • Advise on global restructuring projects, organisational change and employee relations.
  • Handle matters involving discrimination, whistleblowing, termination of employment and the protection of confidentiality and other business interests.
  • Manage Employment Tribunal claims through to hearing stage, alongside relevant High Court and County Court matters.
  • Advise on employment-related data protection and privacy issues.
  • Work on the employment aspects of outsourcing projects and corporate transactions.
  • Contribute to international and cross-border projects involving clients across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Deliver tailored employment law training to clients.
  • Take ownership of matters and key workstreams, working with partners and colleagues across the wider international practice.
  • Develop client relationships while contributing to business development and professional networking.
  • Play a role in the development of junior members of the team.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A solicitor qualified in England and Wales, likely to have around 4-8 years’ PQE in employment law.
  • Broad employment law expertise, including experience advising on restructures and organisational change.
  • Experience advising clients across multiple jurisdictions and contributing to international or cross-border projects.
  • Experience managing Employment Tribunal claims through to hearing stage; advocacy experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Specialist knowledge in one or more areas such as discrimination, data privacy, industrial relations, worker status or national minimum wage.
  • Experience delivering tailored training to clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail and commercial awareness.
  • Confident taking ownership of matters and workstreams while managing competing priorities.
  • Interested in developing client relationships, building a professional network and contributing to business development.
