The Opportunity

  • Join a leading Construction & Engineering disputes team working on a broad range of contentious construction matters.
  • Advise developers, lenders, contractors, consultants and public sector bodies on both project advisory and formal dispute resolution matters.
  • Work on complex disputes involving adjudication, TCC litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution.
  • Gain exposure to major infrastructure projects, PFI/PPP schemes, energy-from-waste developments, regeneration projects and engineering contracts.
  • Advise on disputes relating to consultant appointments, warranties, construction contracts and development agreements across sectors including living, office, retail, life sciences, energy, industrials and transport.
  • Manage your own caseload with appropriate supervision whilst supporting partners and senior lawyers on larger, more complex matters.
  • Build experience in mediation and other forms of ADR, advising clients throughout the dispute resolution process.
  • Play an active role in client relationship management, business development initiatives and the continued growth of the practice.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Solicitor with at least 1 year PQE gained within contentious construction law.
  • Experience of dispute avoidance, dispute resolution and construction project-related matters.
  • Exposure to one or more of adjudication, TCC litigation, High Court litigation or arbitration.
  • Experience preparing pleadings, witness statements and expert evidence would be advantageous.
  • Strong drafting, procedural and document management skills.
  • Able to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a fast-paced environment.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Commercially minded, inquisitive and motivated to develop within a leading construction disputes practice.
  • A collaborative team player with a genuine interest in business development and client service.
