One of the world's leading professional services organisations is continuing to expand its legal capability within the rapidly evolving field of environmental and sustainability regulation. Working at the intersection of law, policy and business strategy, the team advises major organisations on complex regulatory frameworks shaping the global sustainability agenda. With increasing regulatory scrutiny across areas such as supply chains, product regulation, emissions and environmental reporting, the team plays a key role in helping clients navigate new rules, manage risk and implement practical compliance strategies across international operations.

THE OPPORTUNITY

  • Advising clients on a broad range of environmental and sustainability regulatory matters affecting multinational businesses.
  • Supporting organisations in navigating emerging sustainability reporting frameworks including CSRD, ISSB and TCFD.
  • Advising on supply chain due diligence obligations including forced labour regulations, deforestation rules (EUDR) and CSDDD developments.
  • Providing guidance on packaging regulation and environmental taxes including EPR regimes, PPWR developments and plastic packaging tax.
  • Working on matters relating to product regulation and ecodesign including REACH, PFAS, substances of concern, ESPR and digital product passports.
  • Advising clients on greenwashing risks and sustainability target setting, ensuring communications and strategies remain compliant with regulatory expectations.
  • Supporting clients with issues relating to Emissions Trading Schemes (ETS) and Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanisms (CBAM).
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across legal, regulatory and advisory functions on complex client mandates.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • A qualified lawyer around 5-7 years' PQE.
  • Experience advising on environmental, sustainability or product regulatory frameworks.
  • Familiarity with areas such as sustainability reporting, supply chain regulation, product compliance or emissions regimes would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret rapidly evolving regulatory frameworks.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to provide practical, strategic advice to clients.
  • An interest in the intersection of law, sustainability and international regulation.
