About the Firm

The UK's infrastructure pipeline is entering a transformative period, with investment accelerating across energy, transport and essential public services. Our client is playing a central role in that evolution, advising on nationally significant projects that support the country's long-term growth and transition to a more sustainable future. From renewable energy developments and transport infrastructure to utilities and public sector programmes, the team is trusted by major organisations to deliver commercially focused advice on projects that have lasting economic and social impact.

The Opportunity

  • Join a thriving Infrastructure, Projects & Energy practice advising clients across the energy, transport, utilities and public sectors.
  • Work on a diverse portfolio of matters, ranging from major strategic infrastructure projects to day-to-day commercial and operational contracts.
  • Advise energy and renewable sector clients on project development, acquisitions, regulated energy matters and procurement issues.
  • Support nationally significant mandates across areas including transport, water, data centres, charging infrastructure and wider utilities projects.
  • Assist with projects involving schools, hospitals, defence assets and other essential public infrastructure, including PFI and PPP arrangements.
  • Work with an impressive client base comprising developers, energy companies, transport operators, financial institutions, local authorities and central government bodies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the firm's UK and international network on cross-border matters and multidisciplinary projects.
  • Benefit from structured mentoring and development within a growing Leeds team that encourages responsibility from an early stage.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A qualified solicitor with 3+ years' PQE, ideally gained within Infrastructure, Projects & Energy, Commercial Contracts or Corporate.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with experience handling complex commercial agreements.
  • An interest in the infrastructure, energy or transport sectors and the legal frameworks that underpin major projects.
  • Exposure to project development, M&A or public procurement would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Familiarity with PFI or PPP structures would be welcomed, although lawyers looking to build experience in this area are encouraged to apply.
  • A commercially aware lawyer who enjoys understanding clients' strategic objectives and delivering practical legal solutions.
  • Motivated to broaden their expertise across a varied and evolving practice.

What's on Offer

  • An excellent salary and comprehensive benefits package.
  • Exposure to nationally significant infrastructure and energy projects that are shaping the UK's future.
  • The opportunity to develop expertise across multiple sectors rather than specialising too narrowly from the outset.
  • A structured career development programme with mentoring, regular feedback and clear progression opportunities.
  • A supportive team environment that encourages initiative, technical excellence and professional growth.
  • The chance to join a practice that continues to invest in its people, its clients and the future of the infrastructure and energy sector.
