The Opportunity

  • Advise on a broad range of contentious construction matters across both public and private sector projects.
  • Act for developers, lenders, landlords, tenants, PPP organisations and public sector bodies.
  • Work on disputes arising from JCT, NEC and bespoke construction contracts.
  • Play a key role in the delivery of complex, high-value and strategically important mandates.
  • Take an active role in developing and strengthening client relationships.
  • Support the continued growth and expansion of a highly regarded construction practice.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across real estate, banking, projects and wider construction teams.
  • Lead on matters, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and contribute to the successful delivery of client objectives.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior lawyers within the team.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified solicitor with 7+ years' PQE in construction law.
  • Strong experience handling contentious construction matters.
  • Excellent grounding in construction and engineering disputes gained within a recognised construction or real estate practice.
  • Experience advising on disputes arising from standard form and bespoke construction contracts.
  • Proven ability to manage complex matters and coordinate colleagues across multiple disciplines.
  • Strong client relationship and business development skills.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring and developing junior lawyers.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to deliver clear, pragmatic and strategic advice.
