The predicted salary is between 55000 - 65000 £ per year.

The purpose of this role is to oversee and support the Underwriting Operations teams, ensuring they work in line with the business plan and delegated authority. This involves maintaining high standards of service delivery, identifying opportunities for improvement, and assisting team members in achieving their personal and professional development goals.

We have a new vacancy for a Team Leader to join our International Property and Casualty team in London. This is an excellent opportunity to join us at an exciting time as we grow and modernise the business. This role will play a key part in QBE’s continued success in International Markets underwriting.

Your new role:

  • Proactively manage your team’s resource and workflow using KPIs to meet agreed service levels on quality, quantity and deadlines.
  • Develop and performance manage your team of Underwriting Assistants, ensuring objectives are aligned to business requirements, and that we continue to build skills and talent.
  • Drive a continuous improvement approach in your team and direct change projects and initiatives for your product area, working in partnership with underwriting, operations and IT to strive for operational excellence.
  • Ensure that your team complies with all legal and regulatory requirements to meet internal and external obligations.

About you:

  • Proven experience in people management is desirable.
  • Strong and established customer and broker relationships.
  • Experience in using risk profiling, pricing tools, and loss models.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to supervise and motivate a team.
  • Knowledge of underwriting administration processes in Lloyds/London Market.
  • Experience of identifying and implementing process change in Underwriting Operations.
