QBE’s renowned and growing Multinational Service Centre in Chelmsford has an exciting opportunity as a Multinational Service Team Leader. This is a key role to the European Operations (EO) business where you will be managing a Team of Multinational Service Handlers and Specialists to deliver essential multinational servicing and co-ordinating programmes through their full lifecycle (submission management, quote production, policy administration, and cashflow management) whilst working with producing underwriting teams and Global Network offices.

The Opportunity: We’re looking for an experienced and people-focused Multinational Service Team Leader to join our Chelmsford-based Multinational Service Centre (MSC). This is a key leadership role within European Operations, responsible for managing a team of Multinational Service Specialists and Case Handlers. You will oversee the delivery of complex multinational insurance programmes across their full lifecycle — ensuring high service standards, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leading teams, improving processes, and working within a fast-paced, global insurance environment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of Multinational Service Specialists and Case Handlers to deliver high-quality service.
- Monitor team performance against KPIs, SLAs, and service standards, acting where required.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and development planning to support team growth.
- Act as the main escalation point for complex queries, issues, and referrals.
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of multinational programmes (submission, quote, policy servicing, and cashflow).
- Manage workflow, prioritisation, and resource allocation to ensure deadlines are consistently achieved.
- Build strong relationships with underwriters, brokers, and global network offices to ensure seamless coordination.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, tax, and internal governance requirements across all activities.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and implementing process enhancements.
About You: Experience managing or leading a team within an insurance environment, ideally with exposure to multinational programmes. Strong ability to engage, motivate, and develop team members. Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple workflows. Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines. Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. High attention to detail and a structured, analytical approach. Understanding of regulatory, tax, and compliance considerations within insurance (desirable). Comfortable using MS Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
