We’re excited to be hiring a Project Risk Specialist to join our dynamic and collaborative Risk Management team on a full-time, fixed term basis. You’ll be part of a supportive team that thrives on teamwork and innovation, where your expertise will be valued as we work together to support, challenge and run smoothly activities across the Transformation portfolio of QBE European Operations. Your new role as part of a dynamic 2nd line Risk function, reporting to the Project Risk Manager, includes:

  • Transformation Risk: Dive into high-impact projects and programs, offering valuable insights and 2nd line support. Represent EO Risk in key forums, providing impactful challenge and expert opinions on Transformation Risk.
  • 2nd Line Deep Dives: Lead strategic and operational deep dives, offering fresh perspectives and supporting business decision-making. Build strong relationships with stakeholders while delivering actionable insights that drive change.
  • Stakeholder Management: Become a trusted risk partner for the EO Transformation Office, providing robust, independent oversight and challenge. Your relationships will establish you as a key Risk contact across the business.
  • Risk Management Framework: Collaborate with the EO Risk team to support and enhance our Risk Management Framework, championing effective collaboration and demonstrating strong risk management practices.
  • Impactful Communications: Seize opportunities to deliver powerful presentations, ensuring key messages are communicated clearly and professionally, while acting on feedback to continuously improve.

This role within the Project Risk team presents a unique opportunity for an adaptable and inquisitive individual who is eager to learn quickly, confident in engaging with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, comfortable in a dynamic environment, and enthusiastic about challenging the status quo through creative thinking.

Skills you’ll need:

  • Good knowledge of general insurance business, as well as the main lines of business and operations of a global re/insurer.
  • Some experience in project delivery or knowledge of project delivery methods desirable.
  • Ability to operate at pace in a changing environment with sound organisational skills.
  • Curiosity and tenacity in delivery to drive change within the business.
  • Ability to quickly distil information and data to provide insights.
  • Good influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Good presentation and report production with great attention to detail.
  • Conversant with risk management processes, language and tools/systems.
