Our Cyber portfolio is a key strategic priority for QBE, with significant growth achieved to date and ambitious plans for continued expansion. To support this, we are strengthening our presence in London with a newly created Cyber Claims Adjuster role. In this position, you will join our innovative and high-performing Financial & Specialty Markets (FSM) claims team, where collaboration and expertise drive success.

As a leading player in the Cyber market, our global portfolio spans multiple territories including the UK, Europe, Australia, and the US. We manage a wide range of complex claims, providing expertise across diverse risk profiles. Working closely with our global cyber services team and underwriters, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional claims solutions and supporting clients through challenging and evolving cyber incidents.

Your responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing a portfolio of cyber and technology claims from first notification of loss to settlement
  • Actively working with a panel of response vendors during claims incidents to deliver a quality service within required timeframes
  • Establishing coverage early and communicating promptly with customers
  • Ensuring prompt and accurate reserving, identifying and pursuing relevant third-party recoveries and seeking to reduce claims leakage
  • Understanding and implementing the Claims strategy, to enable delivery of overall business targets
  • Developing good relationships with internal and external stakeholders, driving excellent customer service
  • Ensuring accurate and timely updates of QBE’s systems as and when required, capturing key data and meeting service level requirements
  • Maintaining knowledge of the claims portfolio and providing information to others on request, to support underwriting and claims decisions
  • Supporting the development of the Core team as required

Key skills and experience:

  • Experience in managing complex claims, preferably within cyber and/or technology lines, including cross-border and international incidents
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and manage deadlines
  • Strong understanding of insurance policy wordings, with cyber and tech policies being a particular advantage
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with experience engaging credibly with customers and vendors
  • Strong investigation skills and confidence in using systems and data, including producing MI
  • Good understanding of Lloyd’s and subscription markets (preferred)
  • Professional qualifications or a clear commitment to ongoing development
  • A collaborative approach and enthusiasm, willingness to take on challenges and grow technically and professionally
