This role involves shaping and supporting the strategy development of our Property Branch.

Your new role

  • UW Strategy and Business Plan: Lead and execute Property underwriting strategy across Europe, ensuring delivery of the annual business plan in alignment with overall Europe and EO Property strategy. Responsible for the Property P&L across Europe, shaping and managing the portfolio. Ensure team awareness of strategic direction to meet business objectives. Manage resources needed to deliver the Property plan effectively.
  • Portfolio management, performance, and reporting: Develop the Property portfolio in line with plans, risk appetite, and strategy. Oversee review and analysis of the portfolio, monitor progress, and implement remedial actions as needed. Monitor performance against business plan, audit underwriting standards, and ensure data accuracy.
  • Technical expertise: Act as technical Property leader for Europe, providing expertise and escalation support. Contribute to establishing risk appetites and limits, ensuring sound underwriting decisions.
  • Reinsurance: Manage reinsurance requirements and strategies to minimize risk. Oversee purchase of facultative reinsurance across Europe.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including reinsurers, brokers, and industry bodies.
  • People: Lead and motivate the underwriting community for Property across Europe. Develop team skills and ensure alignment with business needs.
