As Chief Marketing and Communications Officer (Marcomms"), International, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the regional Marcomms strategy for QBE's International division and supporting business growth and customer retention across all distribution channels. The role is also responsible for effectively overseeing both internal and external communications, corporate affairs, brand management, PR campaigns, social media, content production and event management to enhance the company's presence and impact across all internal stakeholders as well as the wider market and broader community.
The role sits on the Executive Management Board for International and reports into the International CEO and requires strategic vision, hands-on leadership and exceptional communication skills to lead a function of c.30 employees, across UK, Europe and Asia.
Your New Role

  • Be a strategic partner to key stakeholders across the business to ensure alignment between marketing and business priorities that maximises the impact of the Marcomms budget and capabilities and drives commercial outcomes.
  • Develop a holistic and robust planning approach across the full Marcomms function that enables the creation and execution of a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy
  • Drive a performance culture across the function that is data driven and focused on outcomes aligned to our business strategy.
  • Integrate market, customer and broker insights to create cohesive, personalised, multi-channel marketing and communications.
  • Strengthen and activate QBE's global brand across International to build trust and preference, whilst ensuring global consistency and alignment.
  • Increase engagement, retention and market influence in customer segments where QBE can have a greater relationship with our end customers.
  • Drive broker engagement through targeted broker initiatives to improve attitudes, perception and preference.
  • Collaborate with QBE stakeholders to create effective corporate affairs briefing materials for senior executives that maximise their impact when engaging with key stakeholders in the market and society more broadly (e.g. political and regulatory discussions)
  • Provide leadership, direction, and coaching to build strong digital marketing and social media capability.
  • Develop and implement strong business cases for the introduction of new marketing technologies, agency solutions and resources that drive efficiencies or enhance the delivery of marketing capabilities.
  • Lead, nurture and develop a team of c.30 marketing and comms professionals, providing guidance and fostering a culture of collaboration and creativity.
About You
  • Proven leadership experience in the B2B financial/professional services sector (insurance/reinsurance experience would be an advantage) across Marketing, Internal Communications, Corporate Affairs and Media/Reputation management.
  • Strong team leadership skills with experience of creating a strong business partnership culture and driving new ways of working to achieve impactful results.
  • Experience of leading a Marcomms function through transformational change including developing and implementing new operating models and ways of working.
  • Experience of working within a matrix organisation, managing key stakeholders across the business and working in collaboration with Group Marketing and Comms function.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills and a strong communicator across all levels of the organisation, including experience of presenting at exco/board level.
  • Experience in using technology, data and analytics to take a data driven approach to marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Strong background in planning, budgeting and executing marketing plans that are aligned to business strategy.
