Full time employee. Manchester based – hybrid working. The position focuses on underwriting cyber insurance for new and existing business across a broad range of clients and is broker-facing.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite insurance risks in accordance with the Business Plan and within personal authority to meet business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including customers, brokers, partners, and colleagues, to maximise influence.
- Develop relationships in line with the Business Plan to support achievement of business objectives.
- Understand and comply with QBE reinsurance strategy to minimise risk and deliver business plan objectives.
- Participate fully and use expertise to shape and develop strategy, knowledge and best practice.
- Positively promote the department, division and company to maximise brand leverage.
- Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are met.
- Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions and good practice to minimise risk and maximise efficiency.
- Actively keep abreast of market dynamics and demonstrate market cycle awareness to operate effectively and appropriately.
Qualifications
- Experience within cyber underwriting.
- Strong understanding of profit drivers and strategic decision‑making to support long‑term growth.
- Excellent organisational, prioritisation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead by example, influence others and negotiate effectively.
- Proficiency in Excel and underwriting tools, with ability to analyse data and model results.
