The Opportunity We currently have an opening for a Regional Underwriting Manager to join our South-East team based in London as part of the UK regions businessThis role will provide strategic direction for the region, underwriting the Casualty and Contractors Combined portfolio to ensure growth and profitability. You will manage a team of underwriters, write guidelines, underwrite complex new businesses, and offer specialist advice. Additionally, the role is responsible for building and maintaining broker relationships, applying technical expertise, contributing to business results, and staying informed about industry standards and new product introductions. We're building momentum towards our vision to become the most consistent and innovative risk partner. Your new roleSupport the delivery of the portfolio business plan, driving profitable growth and performance. Underwrite complex risks in line with regulatory requirements and underwriting strategy. Apply underwriting best practice to drive quality, consistency and efficiency. Ensure accurate recording and management of insurance risks, including Delegated Underwriting Authorities where applicable. Contribute to business planning and portfolio performance initiatives. Lead, coach and develop underwriters to achieve business objectives and deliver outstanding results. Experience within Casualty and/or Construction underwritingExperience driving results in challenging market conditions, balancing growth, profitability and risk management. Strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate market insights into clear plans and business outcomes. Visible in the market and skilled at building and strengthening broker and customer relationships, particularly within the Middle Market segment.
