QBE Europe is recruiting a Lead Business Analyst to join the EO Data & AI function, embedded in a single value stream and focused on delivering measurable outcomes through data. Working across both change delivery and BAU, you will translate business needs into clear, governed data requirements and drive improvements across data products, reporting and analytics. You will partner closely with Product, Technology and Data teams to shape demand, prioritise work, and ensure data solutions are adopted, trusted and aligned to value-stream goals.
This role suits a data-specialist Business Analyst who enjoys working end-to-end: from discovery and workshop facilitation through to user stories, acceptance criteria, data lineage/definitions and release readiness. You’ll balance strategic change with day-to-day BAU needs, helping to resolve data issues, refine operational reporting, and continuously improve how the value stream uses data to make decisions.
As the Lead BA for the value stream, you’ll ensure the right work is understood, defined and delivered efficiently from a data perspective, with clear outcomes, quality measures and end-to-end traceability. You will identify impacts and dependencies across processes, systems and data domains, and support continuous improvement in analysis standards, governance and ways of working.
As QBE continues to strengthen its Data, Analytics and AI capability, this role plays a critical part in shaping and translating complex business needs into high-quality data and analytics outcomes.
Having the right to work in the UK is a requirement for this role. QBE may consider sponsorship at its discretion.
Your New Role
- Lead end-to-end analysis for data products, reporting and AI use cases within the value stream, from discovery to release and adoption.
- Partner with business stakeholders to clarify objectives, decisions and success measures (KPIs), converting pain points into prioritised data outcomes.
- Translate needs into high-quality user stories and data requirements (definitions, business rules, lineage, controls), with clear acceptance criteria and measurable outcomes.
- Identify, define and document non-functional requirements.
- Support Data Delivery Managers to shape and prioritise the value-stream backlog (change and BAU), aligning scope, dependencies and sequencing to the roadmap.
- Facilitate workshops to define processes, data flows, KPIs and controls, ensuring shared understanding across business, data and technology teams.
- Maintain end-to-end traceability from business outcomes to data assets, in line with data governance, glossary and quality standards.
- Standardise and improve Data & AI analysis artefacts (e.g., data dictionaries, source-to-target mappings, metrics definitions) to increase delivery speed and quality.
- Identify and manage dependencies, risks and impacts related to requirements and delivery.
- Coach and assure the quality of analysis across the team, raising the bar on outcome-focused, data-led ways of working.
About You
- Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Business Analyst, ideally within data, analytics or technology environments.
- Strong experience eliciting and documenting requirements for complex initiatives.
