This senior, highly visible role sits at the heart of Group Data, leading the refresh and execution of QBE’s enterprise Data & AI strategy and ensuring that strategic investments deliver tangible outcomes.
Key accountabilities:
- Lead and support the refresh of the enterprise Data & AI strategy, working closely with Divisional Heads of Data, Ventures, Group Leadership, IT and senior business stakeholders.
- Facilitate Group and Divisional Data OKR alignment, partnering with Enterprise Transformation Office (ETO) and divisional data leaders to ensure strategic coherence and execution.
- Lead business case development for enterprise Data & AI initiatives, ensuring robust articulation of benefits, costs and value.
- Design and lead process and framework to enable oversight and assurance of Data & AI value delivery across the strategic portfolio, including escalation of risks and issues where required.
- Keep pulse with key stakeholders to ensure that business expectations are met and maintain visibility of Data & AI value at Board, Group and divisional SLT.
- Build strong relationships with key business stakeholders at both group and divisional levels, ensuring their concerns drive the right outcomes via strategic programmes.
About you:
- Senior data and AI leader with a strong track record of shaping enterprise strategy and translating it into measurable business value.
- Strategic, outcomes‑led mindset with comfort operating in complex, highly regulated environments.
- Proven experience leading or contributing to enterprise‑level Data and/or AI strategy, with clear ownership of value realisation, investment assurance and benefits tracking across a complex portfolio.
- Insurance experience and sufficient domain understanding to work credibly with brokers, underwriters and senior business leaders.
- Background in large consulting environments as well as time in industry, balancing strategic thinking with practical execution.
- Ability to navigate and execute strategy in complex, matrixed organisations, understanding execution risk and managing it proactively.
- Confidence engaging at senior levels, including preparing materials for executive forums and interacting with senior leaders at Group Executive level.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, able to drive alignment and progress without formal authority.
- Credibility working with Divisional Heads of Data, IT, ETO and senior business stakeholders to align priorities, OKRs and outcomes across multiple divisions.
