Your new role
- Reporting to Claims Team Leader, you will examine, evaluate, and process claims estimates and paid claim values in accordance with policy terms and conditions in line with the QBE Claims Philosophy.
- Investigate and resolve claims to provide excellent claims handling service with minimal leakage.
- Identify and investigate coverage issues so that the company’s liability is in line with its contractual commitments.
- Deliver a world‑class service to customers.
- Accurately triage and manage claim files through to settlement, prioritise new and existing work appropriately, ensure they are adequately reserved, and settle economically and fairly.
- Pro‑actively own the transition of existing cases into the department.
- Manage ad‑hoc claim reports for stakeholders as required.
- Act as a team player, ready to contribute to a market‑leading claims team.
- Reserve accurately to ensure that the company’s liability is clear at all times.
- Maintain efficient handling of your own caseload to ensure the prompt, timely and effective handling of claims.
- Support projects which may be operational excellence, analytics or automation related.
About you
- Experience within commercial insurance is preferred.
- Understanding of PI/casualty claims.
- Excellent investigative skills.
- Effective presentation skills.
- Relationship‑management skills.
- Able to use MS Office applications (Word, Excel and Access).
- Able to produce MI and detailed reports at various levels.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
