This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Financial Reporting team as a Senior Finance Manager for Management reporting on a 12-24 month fixed term basis. The purpose of this role is to oversee the delivery of precise and timely financial data for the QBE Group and its divisions, ensuring compliance with statutory and management reporting standards. This position involves leading the identification of reporting needs at a portfolio level and developing the necessary procedures and tools to fulfil these requirements effectively.
Your New Role:
- Develop the functional strategy and prioritise operational deliverables and activities of the Group Finance team.
- Design, build and enhance a reporting and operational framework in order to meet requirements of key stakeholders plus statutory and regulatory reporting submissions.
- Produce reports for presentation to the EO executives and Boards on financial performance on a regular and ad hoc basis.
- Contribute to the overall strategy for the department across the organization.
- Ensure that financial data and reports comply with the appropriate management, statutory and regulatory requirements, plus QBE Group accounting guidance and best practice guidelines.
- Manage the preparation and production of regular reporting to Group ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
- Deliver high-quality and timely financial information for internal and external reporting deadlines.
- Regularly monitor and review reporting requirements (including documentation of procedures) in order to ensure compliance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to understand their issues and determine their requirements.
- Maintain regular communication with peers across QBE, as appropriate to ensure consistency, transfer of knowledge and promotion of best practice.
- Produce and submit all executive management reports, statutory reports, regulatory returns and Group finance reports in line with specified timescales to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Continue to seek out improvements in system reporting and interpretation of results to enhance quality of delivery.
- Work closely with Group Business Solutions to identify appropriate system solutions to meet business needs.
- Provide support to Group finance activities such as financing transactions and accounting advice.
- Promote a culture of high performance and strong technical knowledge within the team.
- Actively mentor team members to assist in their personal development.
About you:
- Qualified Accountant.
- Strong financial accounting background.
- Experience in strategic analysis.
- Experience in developing management and statutory reporting processes and systems.
- Practical experience in management and financial reporting environments.
- Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
