Motor Risk Manager

The Opportunity

QBE Europe is currently recruiting for a Motor Risk Manager to join a well-established and experienced risk solutions team. In this role you will provide risk improvement advice, conduct loss control surveys, and support Motor portfolio managers and senior underwriters. This involves identifying and evaluating hazard controls, making loss prevention recommendations, and providing technical advice to clients and underwriters, while ensuring business retention and acquisition objectives are met through the delivery of risk management services.

The role provides an exciting development opportunity and ongoing technical progression will be a key focus area.

Your new role

  • Responsible for management of major client accounts including setting up account activity, scheduling key site visits / risk surveying, reviewing programme structure /costing, recommendations for follow up and interim reporting.
  • Support the Practice Leader in the promotion of the RS strategy internally and externally to enhance QBE\’s position in the market and in the creation of RS programme plan & structure
  • Supports and positively promotes product development initiatives and segmentation projects and solutions.
  • Provide the interface with London market & regional offices on major client RS issues and provide expert technical support on portfolio risks.
  • Contribution to development and enhancement of the QRisk technology platform through stakeholder feedback.
  • Provide technical expertise for major client events and associated technical support collateral.

About you

  • Experience in Fleet / Motor risk management / driver education / driver behavioural change.
  • Good working knowledge of emerging safety technologies and what they mean for the future of managing occupational road risk. E.g. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles, etc.
  • Understanding of Motor Safety Technology and regulations e.g. GSR2 etc.
  • Targeted and effective communications skills at all organisational levels.
  • Experience presenting technical training topics to large audiences.
  • Developing and Delivering tailored \’improvement\’ projects
  • Experience of managing driver training education / programs within blue light organisations (preferable).
  • Understanding of underlying causes of exposure and claims trends.
