Senior Risk Analyst role based in London / Hybrid. You will apply risk expertise to strengthen decision making across a complex insurance business and provide oversight, challenge and insight across Enterprise Risk Management activities, with emphasis on Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSAs), issue and incident management, and risk reporting. You’ll work with senior stakeholders as a trusted Risk partner to embed strong risk management discipline. This role requires the right to work in the UK; sponsorship may be considered at QBE's discretion.

Your New Role

As a Senior Risk Analyst, you’ll deliver ERM oversight and challenge across QBE European Operations. You’ll support effective risk-based decision making and act as a visible Risk presence across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing insight to the business: deliver high-quality risk insights that support better business decisions; articulate implications of recommendations; drive continuous improvement through regular engagement with business functions.
  • Stakeholder engagement: work with senior stakeholders across functions, participate in business forums, understand priorities, provide insight and constructive challenge; build trusted relationships and be a recognised Risk contact across QBE European Operations.
  • Technical expertise and delivery: coordinate core ERM activities to the standard expected of a Senior Risk Analyst, including:
    • Coordinating and overseeing review and challenge of RCSAs, identifying key themes, control weaknesses and areas of focus.
    • Supporting timely completion of RCSAs across the portfolio and addressing gaps or quality issues.
    • Reviewing and challenging issues and incidents, including closure verification and data quality validation.
    • Providing inputs and insight into risk reports and dashboards for management committees.
    • Supporting the implementation of the QBE ERM Framework in line with Group standards.
    • Representing Risk in relevant forums and providing credible, value-adding challenge.
    • Collaborating with Risk colleagues and wider assurance teams to deliver as one function.
    • Communicating clearly with senior stakeholders, presenting findings and recommendations with impact, and modeling QBE’s inclusive culture.

About You

  • Strong experience in risk management, audit, or a related assurance environment.
  • Experience within or closely with the general insurance industry.
  • Deep understanding of RCSAs, issue and incident management, and risk reporting.
  • Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders, providing challenge and clear messaging.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to turn data into meaningful insights.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
  • Commercial awareness and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate at pace with strong organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

This role is well suited to someone with risk or assurance experience who is comfortable working independently, influencing others, and applying professional judgement.
